Amikacin disulfate salt(Cas 39831-55-5) Usage

Description

Amikacin Sulfate is the sulfate salt of amikacin, a semi-synthetic aminoglycoside antibiotic derived from kanamycin. It possesses potent antimicrobial properties and is effective against a wide range of Gram-negative bacteria, including strains of Proteus, Serratia, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Amikacin contains fewer vulnerable enzymatic digestion sites compared to other aminoglycosides, making it effective in suppressing resistance to gentamicin, tobramycin, and kanamycin.

Originator

Amikin,Bristol,US,1976

Uses

Amikacin Sulfate injection is used to treat severe bacterial infections affecting various parts of the body. It is indicated for infections caused by susceptible organisms, including those resistant to other antibiotics. Examples of infections commonly treated with amikacin include severe urinary tract infections, respiratory tract infections, septicemia, skin and soft tissue infections, and bone and joint infections.
